March : Blue Heron

Get involved in Earth Hour.

WWF-Canda is working to help address threats to the blue heron's nesting area, but you can help too. On March 29, join the millions of people across the world taking part in Earth Hour by shutting down power in a show of concern for the environment. Not sure how to celebrate? Here are some tips.

Did you know?

  • One of the main threats to the blue heron is the disturbance of wetland nesting areas.
  • Blue herons are expert fishers.
  • Though blue herons hunt alone, they typically nest in colonies.
